Welcome to Habitat For Humanity of Lenawee County Sticky

[Download our new Brochure]

Founded in 1989 by a group of people who were interested in reducing substandard housing Lenawee County, our affiliate has since built 34 homes in this county.

The Lenawee County HFH is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing.

Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat houses. Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor - "sweat equity" - into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving fund for Humanity that is used to build more houses.

REP JENKINS LEARNS CARPENTRY SKILLS WITH HFH OF LENAWEE COUNTY

On July 16th, Representative Nancy Jenkins (57-Clayton) participated in the 3rd Lowe’s Women Build Clinic with Habitat for Humanity of Lenawee County. This was an opportunity for women to learn the skills involved in applying vinyl siding. The women at the clinic learned carpentry skills and built a potting shed from the ground up.

Executive Director Bob Dister says, “We eagerly anticipate a future Women Build project and will include Nancy in all that we do.”

Cars For Homes

Do you have an older car, truck, van, trailer, RV or boat taking up valuable space in your yard?

Your car donation will support Habitat for Humanity’s local and global mission of eliminating poverty housing and homelessness and save you the time and energy of finding a buyer. By donating a car to our vehicle donation program, you can help Habitat for Humanity of Lenawee County Michigan build houses in partnership with families in need of a hand up, not a hand out.
