Critical Home Repair
The Home Repair Program focuses on critical repairs that improve the safety, accessibility, and livability of your home. Projects are funded by grants, no-profit, partially forgiven loans, or a combination of the two, depending on funding availability. Eligible projects may include:
- Roof repair or replacement
- Accessibility modifications (ramps, grab bars, tub/shower conversions, etc.)
- Electrical / Plumbing repairs
- Water heater replacement
- Furnace repair or replacement
- Window replacement
- Siding repair or replacement
- Insulation improvements
We do not assist with strictly cosmetic projects.
Qualifications
Program eligibility varies based on available funding sources. In general, applicants should:
- Own and occupy the home as their primary residence
- Be current on property taxes
- Have a gross monthly household income that is at or below the income limit for your household size as shown in the table
Homes under a land contract and mobile homes are not eligible for most Home Repair Program funding.

This Pre-Application is the first step and is not a full application. Once it’s completed and returned, our team will review it to see whether you may be eligible to move forward in the process. Qualified applicants will work with our Repair Program Manager to complete the full application. Completed applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis as funds are available. Early application is encouraged. Habitat for Humanity also maintains a list of other community resources that may be able to help you.
