Volunteers are the heart of what we do.

Our organization receives no government funds to build or rehab Habitat homes. We rely strictly on volunteers and the generosity of community members like you to build and repair homes. Many individuals, families, churches, clubs, and youth groups support the work of Habitat in Lenawee County by volunteering at job sites, providing lunches for volunteers, or praying for families and the Habitat mission. Others share their talents by gifting hours to offer skilled labor as a plumber, carpenter, or electrician.

Volunteer as a Group

There are a variety of ways to get your group involved with Habitat for Humanity of Lenawee County. We welcome groups of volunteers from churches, businesses, schools, athletic teams, and other organizations.

You don’t need prior construction experience – just a willingness to learn and serve!  Habitat provides the necessary materials and supervision. Our build sites can generally use anywhere from 5 to 12 volunteers per project; however, we can accommodate more for specific build tasks. To request a team build day, email us at volunteer@habitat-lenawee.org.   Opportunities are subject to staff availability.

After your group day is scheduled, you will receive pertinent information for your build day. All participants must complete and sign a Release and Waiver of Liability. Read more about safety and training here.

Youth Volunteer Opportunities

Are you a student in need of community service hours for a school club or other organization? A parent looking for volunteer opportunities your family can do together? Youth can help on build sites, at our ReStore and in our office, with available opportunities varying by age.

Any volunteer age 15 or younger must be accompanied by an adult. All minor volunteers must have a liability waiver signed by their parent or guardian.
