In-Kind Donations

Habitat for Humanity of Lenawee County greatly appreciates in-kind gifts from individuals, businesses, and organizations. Each of these gifts aids in the construction and repair of Habitat for Humanity homes.

Land

There are several factors that Habitat must consider before accepting land donations, including location (the land must be in Habitat’s general service area), access to services (such as water and sewer), and zoning (the site must be located on land designated for housing) and more.

Please email Wendy Knox, Executive Director, at wknox@habitat-lenawee.org or call (517) 265-6157 if you would like to discuss donating land to Habitat For Humanity of Lenawee County.

Construction Items

You can support our new home construction program through donations of building materials, subcontractor services, and construction tools and supplies.

Building Materials

We build an average of 3 homes per year and complete many critical home repairs. We partner with businesses to help offset our construction costs by donating new building materials.

If you are interested in donating building materials (for example, excess tile from a flooring project at your home), we encourage you to donate them to our ReStore*, where they can be resold and the profits directed to our affordable housing programs.

Subcontractor Services

Our homes are built primarily with volunteer labor, but we subcontract some professional services, including roofing, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC. We welcome professional subcontractors who are willing to donate their services.

Other items

If you’d like to donate office items or other non-construction related items or services to Habitat for Humanity of Lenawee County, please contact our main office at (517) 265-6157. If you are interested in donating to our ReStore, please review our list of Accepted Donations.
