President Kevin Brown: Kevin and his wife Jaina live in Onsted area and is an instructor at LISD's TECH Center. He and his Residential Construction students from the TECH Tech Center have completed HFHLC House #35 on Toledo St., Adrian in May 2009. Kevin was key in reestablishing the working relationship between the LISD TECH Center and our affiliate, and he and his students continue to do an awesome job. He was chosen as the LISD TECH Center Instructor of the Year for 2008.
Vice President Robert Fox: Bob has been a resident of Lenawee County for 28 year, is an Associate Broker, with a B.A. from Siena Heights University , Certified Citizen Planner MSU. 19 Years Experience
Chairperson for City of Tecumseh Planning Commission, Treasurer of Tecumseh Downtown Development Authority, Elected Officials Compensation Board, Board Member Lenawee County Economic
Development Commission, Tecumseh Chamber of Commerce. Past Executive Committee Member of the Lenawee County March of Dimes, Past V. P. U of M Dugout Club, Member of Tecumseh Rotary Club. Member of the Lenawee County , Michigan and National Association of Realtors
Asst. Varsity Baseball coach Tecumseh High School , Camp Coach U of M Baseball Camps.
Secretary John Kottke: John and his wife are natives of the area having both graduated from Adrian High. After retiring as a meteorologist from the National Weather Service, John attended Seminary and was ordained in United Church of Christ in 2005. John joined our Board in June, 2006, and also serves as Church Relations Chair.
Treasurer Penelope (Penny) Starr: Penny brings with her 20 years of experience in the business and accounting fields, working for Deloitte & Touche , Wacker Chemical Corporation and now for EOTECH in Ann Arbor. Penny's initial volunteer experience with Habitat came as a result of a class requirement during her graduate program at MSU. Penny worked with our local affiliate to fulfill that requirement. During that time, Penny became hooked and to our good fortune has continued her involvement with Habitat. Penny lives in Tecumseh and has three college-aged children. |

- Gary Dawes is the pastor at Adrian's United Methodist Church, and elected within our affiliate in June, 2006. He and his wife of 33 years, Barb, live in Adrian. Together they have two married children and one grandchild. Gary has been involved with various Habitat for Humanity affiliates since 1986. Gary is the Chairman of the Board for Habitat Michigan.
- Craig Baumann is the Volunteer Coordinator for our affiliate. He and his wife have lived in Adrian for nearly 30 years. Craig has two daughters and 7 grandchildren. Since retiring in 2003, Craig has been involved in bowling, card-playing and spending time with his grandchildren. Craig joined the Board in 2006 and volunteers frequently when there are odd jobs to be done.
- Mark Lenz joined the board in 2007. Mark first became a Habitat volunteer in the 1980s while living with his family in Nevada. A transplant to SE Michigan from Nevada, Mark brings a wry sense of humor to our board, while at the same time displaying a quiet passion for making the world a better place. His day job as editor of the Daily Telegram in Adrian keeps him busy. Mark is proud of his two daughters whom he describes as "wonderful".
- Larry Schroeder joined our Board in late-2007. Larry's history with Habitat dates back to the early-1990's when he was the Curriculum Director at VoTech and helped orchestrate the partnership between the Building Trades students at VoTech and our affiliate. Larry left VoTech and that partnership dissolved until he returned as VoTech's Principal in 2003 when he helped revive the program. Larry is an Adrian Kiwanis member. He and his wife have four children and six grandchildren.
- Sister Mary Soher is a member of the Adrian Dominican Sisters. She currently serves on the Fund Development and PR Committees. Mary was born and raised in the western states of the US, and received her BA from Trinity University in Texas. She worked in TV/communications for many years before joining the Adrian Dominican Congregation some ten years ago. From 1999 - 2005, Mary ministered at Barry University in Florida where the HFH Campus Chapter is very active in building homes. Mary joined our Board in 2005 and brought with her a renewed sense of membership!
- Helen Woodward serves on the Family Selection and Family Support Committees, has been volunteering with HFHLC since the late 1990's. She joined the Board in 2004. A retired Blissfield farmer, this 80-year-old spitfire helped write a grant to Thrivent requesting $10,000 for our 2005 Blissfield project, and she could be seen at the Blissfield building sites nearly every day during construction. Helen is the mother of 5, grandmother of 9, and great-grandmother of 5.
- Mark Bruggeman joined our Board in December 2008. Mark a native of Adrian, attended Washington University in St. Louis and then onto the University of Oregon School of Law where he obtained his JD degree. Mark joined Bruggeman Law Office in January of 2004 and maintains a general practice of law in Adrian. In addition to his work at Bruggeman Law Office, Mark was appointed Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Lenawee County in September of 2004 and currently holds that position. Mark also serves as local counsel for both Great Lakes Ethanol, LLC and Great Lakes Wind, LLC and holds a seat on the Board of Directors for both organizations. Mark currently lives on the family farm in Seneca Township with his wife Jennifer, son Tyler.
- Barry Garrow Barry lives in Morenci, and joined the Lenawee Habitat Board in July of 2009. Barry is a Michigan Licensed Contractor and Licensed Sales Person and has been in the construction business for over 27 yrs. Barry has worked for Michigan Building Specialties for 27 years in Management, and was the Project Manager for Habitat Lenawee's first Thrivent Build in Morenci in 2005. Barry enjoys camping, hunting and fishing and family time with his two children and one grandchild, volunteering as a Sunday School Teacher (20+yrs), mission trips and local mission projects and is a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Morenci MI.
- Kay Barber Kay and her husband Jay live in Adrian and have to children, twins Grace and Owen. Kay grew up in Marquette and attended Michigan State University. She and her husband moved to Adrian in 2000 and have come to love being part of the community. After graduating in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design Kay worked as an interior designer for Interphase, a Haworth dealer in Grand Rapids, MI., moved to Washington DC in the summer of 1998 where she worked at Price-Modern.

Executive Director Robert (Bob) Dister lives outside of Morenci with his wife Pat, they have 3 grown children and 1 grandchild. Bob joined our affiliate on January 5th, 2009 but is no stranger to Habitat, Bob worked as a volunteer on two Habitat house's built in Morenci, one which was built in partnership with Thrivent for Lutherans. Bob worked for Big Brothers, Big Sisters before joining Habitat, is a local Methodist Pastor, and has a Masters Degree in School Counseling.
Laura Alcock serves the HFHLC office and ReStore as the Financial Assistant and works closely with the Board Treasurer. Laura and her husband, Don, live in Sand Creek. They have five children and eleven grandchildren.
Kenneth Sterling - Ken joined HFHLC in 2007 as the ReStore Support Person, in 2009 Ken’s duties where shifted to working as the Construction Support Person. He and his wife Mary live in the Hudson area and have five (5) grown children.
